Eugene, Ore. • Big losses had happened before, but never like this.

The Utes fell behind Oregon so quickly and thoroughly in their 94-48 loss Saturday that by the time they scored their second basket they already trailed 34-2.

It was the worst loss in Utah history, eclipsing a 44-point loss to Denver AC in 1934.

Jason Washburn led the Utes (6-24, 3-15) with a career-high 26 points, but the Utes only impacted the day's storyline in that they were the team that happened to play Oregon.

The Ducks (22-8, 13-15) were nearly flawless in the first half, and guards Devoe Joseph and Carlos Emory actually were. The two combined to shoot 10-of-10 from the floor, including 4-of-4 on 3-pointers, in the first half, helping the Ducks to a 52-14 halftime lead.

The Ducks finished 15-of-33 on 3-pointers, while Joseph finished with 21 points and Emory added 19.
