Police are searching for a man who used bolt cutters to threaten a customer at a gas station and rob him in broad daylight.

The robbery occurred about 12:40 p.m. Feb. 29 at a Chevron station at 504 S. West Temple, according to press statement Thursday from Salt Lake City police.

The victim was at a gas pump when a man rode up on a bicycle, snatched money out of the victim's hand and threatened to use the bolt cutters as a weapon, police wrote.

The victim pushed the attacker away and went inside the business, where he locked the door. The assailant fled south on his bicycle.

The attacker is described as Latino, 5-foot-2 inches to 5-foot-4 inches tall, 22 to 29 years old, with dark hair and a thick mustache. He was wearing a green parka, black gloves, blue jeans and a brown beanie.
