Spanish Fork pitcher Cambrie Hazel helped lead the Dons to their third consecutive Class 4A softball state championship in May.
Hazel was honored Monday as the Gatorade Utah Softball Player of the Year.
She went 24-0 with a 1.25 ERA over 140.1 innings in the circle. She struck out 221. She also made an impressive impact at the plate, batting .439 with six homers. She scored 26 runs.
"Cambrie's stats are indicative of her impact on each game that she plays," Springville coach Jill Thackeray said in a release. "Cambrie is a game-changer. She is focused and determined and is an incredible athlete."
