Spring Grüv at Canyons: Pond Skimming, Little Feat, Martin Sexton, and Billy Bush of "Access Hollywood"

The fifth edition of Spring Grüv, Canyons' trademark March snow and music festival, returns March 24-April 1 with Pond Skimming, Red Bull Schlittentag and a concert series including Little Feat, John Brown's Body and Martin Sexton.

New this year is the Operation Smile Downhill Celebrity Race, hosted by Billy Bush of "Access Hollywood," and the Spring Powder Play, a lodging and lift ticket offer for Utah residents looking for a "stay-cation".

Canyons Pond Skimming features daredevil "athletes" trying to ski/surf/board their way across a 100-foot pond in a wild assortment of costumes. Celebrity judges cast votes for Style, Air, Costumes, Crowd Reaction and Distance. Pond Skimming takes place at noon on Sat., March 24 and pre-registration is required for entrants (minimum age: 10 years old). One week later on Saturday, March 31, Red Bull Schlittentag ("sledding day" in German) takes center stage as energy-drink devotees catapult themselves towards adoring crowds at Canyons' Ski Beach in homemade "sleds" – ranging from converted sofas, cribs and furniture pallets to cardboard rockets. Registration and check-in begin at 10:30 a.m., with the first sled taking off at noon.Little Feat will provide the soundtrack on March 24 beginning at 3 p.m.John Brown's Body takes to the Canyons Resort Village stage at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 25.

On March 31, Martin Sexton headlines the Saturday concert series. That morning, Billy Bush of "Access Hollywood" and Operation Smile will host the first Smile Downhill – featuring stars from television, film and sport in a celebrity race. More information will be released shortly.
