Oslo, Norway • Park City's Bryan Fletcher won his first Nordic combined World Cup event, which was shortened by melting snow on Saturday.

The 25-year-old Fletcher was third in the ski jump and 11th in the cross-country race. He finished with a total time of 28 minutes, 48.7 seconds.

"I honestly didn't realize I had won until I crossed the finishing line," he said. "It was a really tough race and you had to be really strong. I didn't let my guard down for a second."

Mikko Kokslien of Norway finished 2.3 seconds after recovering from 17th in the ski jump to win the cross-country.

Taihei Kato of Japan jumped the farthest and finished third overall.

Warm weather at Holmenkollen led to uneven conditions, forcing organizers to limit the jump to one round instead of two and reducing the cross-country portion to 10 kilometers instead of 15.
