Despite the fact that is is 4 1/2 hours away, the Green River below Flaming Gorge Reservoir is my home river. I don't visit the Green nearly as often as I should, but there are few days that go by without moments on the river flashing through my mind. I've written several times about threats to the Green and Flaming Gorge above it. Trout Unlimited has been leading the charge against one of the greatest threats: the Million Pipeline. The folks at TU are continuing the battle with a film tour to show off their film "Green With Envy". The film, produced by fellow Outdoor Writers Association of America member Kris Millgate out of Idaho Falls, provides an in-depth look at the proposed pipeline that would suck, literally, 81 billion gallons of water annually. It doesn't take a genius to realize the impact losing that much water above the reservoir would have on the incredible fisheries of the Gorge and the Green. Check out the film, make your own judgements, and, if so inclined, get involved. You can also watch a teaser at this site. There is a showing in Logan April 3 at 7 p.m. in the Taggert Student Center Auditorium, on the Utah State University campus and another April 5 at Hotel Park City, 2001 Park Ave., at 7 p.m. The shows are free. Keep an eye out for that crazy Charlie Card.
