Looks like Nat Borchers might just be on track to return for RSL.The veteran defender played 45 minutes for the team's reserve side in its 3-1 loss at FC Dallas on Tuesday night, suggesting he might be ready to return to the senior team when it opens its home season against the New York Red Bulls at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday.Borchers has been recovering from offseason knee surgery, and coach Jason Kreis said his availability this weekend will depend a lot on how he recovers from playing for the first time since last season.Borchers had not appeared in any of the team's preseason games or scrimmages.Rookie Emiliano Bonfigli scored the only goal for RSL against the FCD reserves, off a pass from Cody Arnoux in the ninth minute, before the team allowed three goals past keeper Kyle Reynish in the final half-hour. New FC Dallas signing Luis Perea and Jonathan Top each scored once and set up a goal for the Hoops, while Bryan Leyva accounted for the other strike.Newcomers Leone Cruz, Terukazu Tanaka, Diogo de Almeida — all defenders — and midfielder Jonny Steele all played the full 90 minutes for RSL, while first-round draft pick Enzo Martinez played 66 before being subbed off.
