Enjoy the unseasonably warm temperatures while you can because by the end of the weekend winter will make another appearance in the state.

But for now, the weather Thursday was expected to be downright pleasant throughout the state with temperatures in northern Utah reaching nearly 70 degrees and sunshine expected. It was expected to be even warmer in St. George, topping out at 75.

The pleasant weather was expected to vanish late Saturday into early Sunday as a cold front sweeps across the state bringing with it chilly temperatures and precipitation. Come Sunday, there is a 70 percent chance of snow in northern and parts of southern Utah. Chances of snow were expected to linger into Monday.

The Utah Avalanche Center said a "considerable" chance of slides remained for the Logan mountains. The rest of the state — with the exception of the Manti Skyline and Moab ranges — remained under a "moderate" risk. The Manti and Moab mountains were not rated Thursday morning.

The air quality statewide was "green," or good, according to the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.

Salt Lake City looked for a high temperature of 69 degrees on Thursday and 65 on Friday; Ogden was expected to top out at 66 and 61, respectively; Provo, 68 and 66; Logan, 63 and 58; Wendover, 67 and 60; Duchesne, 65 and 64; Cedar City, 64 and 63; St. George, 75 and 73; and Moab, 70 and 75.
