Police in St. George say a medicated driver drove into a hair salon early Friday.

The driver was not seriously injured, according to a news release from St. George police. The crash happened at 1:20 a.m. at 767 N. Bluff St.

Police said the 19-year-old motorist was driving a green 1999 Toyota Sienna north on Bluff Street then veered off the road, across a parking lot and into the building. A photo from the police department shows the entire car entered the building and stopped inside the salon. The crash also broke water pipes and destroyed hair and fingernail equipment.

Police said the man appears to have fallen asleep at the wheel. The man should not have been driving due to the medication he was taking, the news release said. The driver was cited with driving under the influence.
