John F. Harris, co-founder and editor-in-chief of the political-news newspaper and website Politico, will speak Tuesday, March 20, at Westminster College in Salt Lake City.
Politico.com is one of the go-to websites for political junkies, and considered an influential news source within Washington's "Beltway."
Harris and James VanderHei, Politico's executive editor, founded the paper in 2007, after careers covering politics at The Washington Post. Harris was named one of Washington's most influential journalists (in The Telegraph) and one of the most influential people in D.C. (by GQ).
Harris' topic is "The Whole World is Watching: Global Leadership and the 2012 Elections." His appearance at Westminster is part of the Kim T. Adamson Lecture Series on International Studies.
The lecture starts at 7 p.m. at the Vieve Gore Concert Hall at Westminster, 1840 S. 1300 East, Salt Lake City.
The lecture is free to the public.
