This weekend on TV: HBO starts playing "Game of Thrones" again

Game of Thrones (Sunday, 10 p.m., HBO) is back for Season 2 - and fans won't be disappointed.

(Well, give it a couple of episodes. Because, as was the case with Season 1, there's so much plot to set up.)

The action picks up where it left off 9½ months ago. Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) is on the throne in King's Landing, but there are other kings galore intent on either displacing him or carving out their own kingdoms. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) has her dragons, but they're just babies and not of much use. Yet.

Plus, winter is coming and there's an ominous threat in the north.

It's great stuff.

Blue Bloods (9 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): Danny debates what to do when a gun turned in under a no-questions-asked policy is linked to a crime.

Fairly Legal (10 p.m., USA): Kate is ordered to mediate an insurance dispute.

Nicki Minaj, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Rock, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Zac Efron, Heidi Klum, Victoria Justice, Miranda Cosgrove, Big Time Rush, Chris Colfer, Cee Lo Green are all scheduled to appear, and Katy Perry and One Direction are scheduled to perform. This half-hour documentary, titled "Court of Champions," show us how the floor they're playing on in New Orleans was made. It's actually quite interesting, and there's a local tie-in - the court was manufactured by Salt Lake-based Connor Sport Court International.

Army Wives (7 and 11 p.m., Lifetime): David is injured.

Desperate Housewives (8 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): Susan discovers that Mike had been keeping a secret.
