A 57-year-old paraglider crashed Tuesday evening into landscaping rocks behind a Draper home.

Unified Fire Authority Capt. Lee Ascarte said that at about 5:30 p.m., the man's glider stalled about 100 feet up at 9 E. Manilla Circle (15200 South).

The man wasn't quite in a free-fall, but began a faster, but "somewhat controlled" descent to the ground, Ascarte said. He landed on some large rocks behind a home and was unconscious. After medical teams arrived and began treating him he regained consciousness, Ascarte said.

He was taken for observation to Intermountain Medical Center in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery, Ascarte said.

Some damage was done to the man's helmet as he hit his head on some of the rocks.
