This Is the Place Heritage Park, usually reserved for all things nostalgic and pioneer, will be bursting at the seams with youth of all kinds today through Saturday, and on through May 25.
That's when the park's annual "Baby Animal Season" fills the grounds with newborn lambs, chicks, pigs and goats for kids of all ages to see. It all takes place in the park's Petting Corral and Savage Livery Stable. Even the ponies are up for a ride.
Other activities include a train ride that would be a journey straight into 19th-century pioneer living.
For this year's event linking children with the wonders of animal life, Humane Society of Utah will be on hand with its Adopt-a-Pet program in case your family's smitten enough to take a new animal home and into the fold.
Plenty of activities provide opportunities for families to gather to watch something. Here, at long last, is an event centered on nature and focused on the world of touch.
