Travelers through central and southern Utah faced snowpacked roads Saturday.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning in the area, predicting between 12 and 24 inches of snow through the night.
The storm warning was in effect for southern and central mountains, including Loa, Bryce Canyon and New Harmony. Snow Saturday was reported throughout the area, the weather service reported. The warning was to be in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday.
The weather service said road conditions may be hazardous in those areas, including parts of Interstate 15 near Fillmore and Cedar City, along with Interstate 70 near Clear Creek Summit and from Salina to Fremont Junction.
The Utah Highway Patrol reported several weather-related accidents Saturday in the Cedar City and Beaver areas involving about 30 vehicles. About 2 p.m. Friday, a semitruck jack-knifed on I-15 near Beaver, UHP officials said, and slid off the road; a vehicle then crashed into the semi. Minor injuries were reported.
