Looks like former BYU quarterback John Beck will have a former teammate to pal around with in Washington, D.C. The Washington Redskins announced Monday that they have signed former Cougar Bryan Kehl, an inside linebacker who was a free agent. Kehl played for the St. Louis Rams last year, mostly on special teams, and recorded 15 tackles in 14 games. The former Brighton High star is expected to play inside LB at Washington, after playing outside linebacker at BYU and for most of his NFL career. The 6-2, 244-pound Kehl has recorded 110 tackles, a sack and an interception in his career, which began with the New York Giants. Kehl has a good chance of making the Redskins' roster because last year's backup ILBs, Keyaron Fox and Rocky McIntosh, had their contracts expire after last season and have not been re-signed.————————-BYU's men's volleyball team defeated Long Beach State on Saturday night and has advanced to the MPSF Semifinals. The Cougars will play Stanford at USC's Galen Center on Thursday night. Officials announced Monday that the match will be shown live on BYUtv. It begins at 6 p.m. MDT. If BYU wins Thursday, it will stay in California and play the winner of the USC-UC Irvine match in Saturday's championship match. That potential match will also be shown on BYUtv.
