Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Salt Lake County Council • Will discuss dogs in Parleys Historic Nature Park as it considers enforcing Salt Lake City's leash laws; Tuesday, May 1, 4 p.m.; County Government Center, 2001 S. State St. During a 1 p.m. study meeting, the council will discuss a proposed parks bond and the budget for mental health and substance abuse programs in 2013.

Salt Lake City Council • Will hold a public hearing on a proposal to create a capital improvement budget of $6.8 million to fund the Sugar House/South Salt Lake Streetcar Greenway and Parley's Trail Project; Tuesday, May 1, 7 p.m., Room 315, City Hall, 451 S. State St.

Granite Board of Education • Considers bids for rebuilding Hartvigsen School, with Hughes General Contractors submitting the low bid of approximately $16 million. The board is also scheduled to vote on a calendar for the 2013-14 school year (Option A); Tuesday, May 1, 7 p.m., 2500 S. State St.

Murray City Council • Holds public hearing on proposal to transfer $3 million of the 2011-12 budget to the Capital Projects Fund; hears from Murray High School debate students on their recommendations regarding recycling improvements as part of a national program, "Project Citizen"; Tuesday, May 1, 6:30 p.m., council chambers, Murray City Center, 5025 S. State St.

Midvale City Council • Holds hearing on tentative 2012-13 budget; May 1, 6:30 p.m., Midvale City Hall, 655 W. Center St.

Cottonwood Heights Planning Commission • Reviews a request from Verizon Wireless Communications to replace an existing cell tower with a new 65-foot pole at 3470 E. Bengal Blvd. Also takes public comment on T-Mobile Knudsen Corner to remove a rooftop wireless antenna at 6322 S. 3000 East and put up a new one at 6340 S. 3000 East; Wednesday, May 2, 6 p.m., City Council chambers, 1265 E. Ft. Union Blvd.

West Valley City Council • Adopts a tentative budget for fiscal year 2012-13; Tuesday, May 1, 6:30 p.m., in council chambers, West Valley City Hall, 3600 Constitution Blvd.

Provo Municipal Council • Votes to adopt a tentative budget for the 2012-13 budget year; Tuesday, May 1, 7 p.m., in the Municipal Council Chambers, 351 W. Center St.

Draper City Council • Will vote to adopt a tentative budget for the 2012-13 budget year; Tuesday, May 1, 7 p.m., in council chambers, 1020 E. Pioneer Road.

Provo Municipal Council • Votes on a proposal to declare part of 100 South between University Avenue and 100 West as surplus property. The property is being sold to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for its Provo City Center Temple; Tuesday, May 1, 7 p.m., in the Municipal Council Chambers, 351 W. Center St.
