Public information officer Carrick Cook said Monday that the driver of the motorcycle, Robert Wesley Crawley, 52, and his passenger, Shelley Willis Vincent, 48, both died at the scene of the 7:36 p.m. accident.

The motorcycle was traveling southbound when it struck the southbound tractor-trailer semi-truck, Carrick said.

He said that "speed too fast" on the part of the motorcycle was cited at the cause of the crash.
