The days of sunny weather have come to an end, at least for the next few days.

A cloudy Wednesday is expected to give way to rain on Thursday throughout most of the state, before Friday brings a slight chance of snow for Northern Utah cities.

The National Weather Service reports that temperatures Wednesday should reach in the high 70s or low 80s throughout the state, with cloudy skies in Northern Utah, and a breezy day in the southern areas.

The rain may come as early as Wednesday evening, and by Thursday, there is a 70-80 percent chance of rain in cities to the north and the south. Those rain storms will clear for Southern Utah on Friday, with highs expected to reach 69 degrees in Moab and 75 degrees in St. George.

In Northern Utah, however, wet weather is expected to continue into Friday, with a 20-30 percent chance of snow in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Provo and Logan. High temperatures on Friday should reach about the mid-50s.

The Utah Department of Environmental Quality forecast "green" or healthy air quality for all regions through Thursday.
