Thunderstorms • Wasatch Front looks for a rainy week.

Rain showers and thunderstorms will make periodic appearances through the remainder of this week in northern Utah, while the state's southern half will see warm temperatures and partly cloudy and gusty skies.

The National Weather Service predicted rainfall off-and-on throughout Wednesday along the Wasatch Front, repeating the pattern forecasters expected for Tuesday. High temperatures for the region were expected to range in the mid- to upper-60s.

In southern Utah, winds of up to 20 mph were predicted under partly cloudy skies with high temperatures expected to be in the low- to mid-80s.

Air Quality was rated at "green," or satisfactory statewide, the Division of Environmental Quality reported.

Salt Lake City expected a high temperature Wednesday of 69 degrees in the wake of Tuesday's forecast for 67 degrees; Ogden looked for 69 and 64 degrees, respectively; Provo 73 and 67; Logan 63 degrees both days; Wendover and Duchesne each looked for 70s; Cedar City 74 and 73; St. George 86 and 85; and Moab looked for 80 degrees both days.
