A Utah daughter sues her mother today on Judge Judy (3 p.m., Ch. 13).

Rebecca Daniell, 18, of Orem, sues her mother, Denise Weaver, 40, of Tooele, for benefits owed from her father's death. Weaver claims she doesn't owe her daughter anything.

"She wants the benefits that you were collecting on her behalf from the government for the 10 months that she was not in your home, prior to achieving her 18th birthday, that you used," Judge Judy Sheindlin says to Weaver. "Now you're going to explain to me why you didn't give her the money."

Weaver says she was receiving $900 a month on Daniell's behalf. Daniell's father, to whom Weaver was never married, was serving in the Air Force when he died.

"This $900 a month is given by me," Sheindlin says. "I want you to consider me the taxpayer. It's given by me to children whose parents are either deceased as a result of being in the military service or collecting social security and they died, or were entitled to social security benefits. "

Somebody's going to come out of this not looking very good.
