As part of its efforts to support the local economy, Salt Lake City is teaming up with Local First Utah and the Vest Pocket Business Coalition to sponsor and present the third annual Neighborhood Business Conference.

The conference will be staged from 7:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building on the campus of the University of Utah.

The conference aims to assist neighborhood business districts with marketing and branding initiatives and to provide resources and support for Salt Lake City's small businesses.

This year's conference will focus on the "Local Effect" — how dollars spent at local businesses support the area's economy. A continental breakfast and box lunch will be provided.
