Utah forecast: Sunny, warm and dry statewide

Under mostly clear and sunny skies, northern Utah's forecast for Thursday called for high temperatures in the mid- to upper-70s, while southern Utahns looked for highs at or above 90 degrees.

Continued dry conditions prompted the National Weather Service to once more issue a "Red Flag" wildfire danger warning, this time for central Utah's Castle Country, north and south of Interstate 70 and between Price and Green River. Forecasters warned of winds of 20 mph, with gusts of 30 mph, amid parched high desert rangelands and forests.

Air quality statewide was graded as "Green," or good, according to the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.

Salt Lake City expected a Thursday high temperature of 79, up a degree from Wednesday's forecast; Ogden expected 76 degrees both days; Provo 79 and 80; Logan 76 and 75; Wendover 80 and 79; Duchesne 76 and 74; Cedar City 81 and 82; St. George 93s; and Moab 88 and 89 degrees.
