The top presidential campaigns held events in places meant to annoy the other side, to middling success, and then found the news dominated by the mistrial of John Edwards, offering another example of how difficult it is to control the spotlight. Topping the news: City Weekly obtained an audio recording of AG candidate John Swallow saying that he wants to take the authority to investigation consumer protection claims away from the governor's office and put it under his control, a move that could potentially benefit some of his campaign donors.
