Ralston will retell his desperate tale on Wednesday in Ogden

By now, Aron Lee Ralston's story is familiar. Shocking, but familiar.

Hiking alone in southern Utah in 2003, he became trapped between a boulder and the canyon wall. Facing death, he amputated his own arm with a dull pocket knife to get free and find help.

Ralston turned his tale in an autobiography, "Between a Rock And a Hard Place." And his book was turned into the Oscar-nominated film "127 Hours." And Ralston launched a career as a motivational speaker.

He will share his story and his message on Wednesday, June 13, at 8 p.m. at Ogden's Peery Theater, which will also feature a screening of 2010 film. The appearance is sponsored by the Grassroots Outdoor Alliance, a group of independent outdoor retailers. —
