The Sundance Institute's Directors Lab is underway, at the Sundance resort in Provo Canyon - and Sundance is offering a window into the creative process being fostered there.

The Sundance website is serving up this collection of photos, via Instagram, taken at the labs. They show the on-set work, and the off-hours relaxation enjoyed by the filmmakers, crews, actors and advisors.

One little factoid gleaned from the photos: Actor Gregory Smith once shot an episode of "Everwood" at the resort.

The Directors Lab is an jam-packed monthlong program, in which eight filmmakers bring their scripts and workshop scenes - with real actors and real crews - under the watchful eye of faculty advisors. The final week, those eight and another five screenwriters will go through intensive work on their screenplays.
