We're having a heat wave, a Rocky Mountain heat wave. The temperature's rising, and it isn't surprising.
Ma Nature's mercury rising? In a desert state like Utah, she certainly can (can-can.)
Along the Wasatch Front on Thursday, high temperatures will flirt with 90 degrees under clear, sunny skies, a repeat of Wednesday's forecast. To the south, thermometers will hover around 100 degrees though Utah's Dixie will have a bit of relief from breezes of 15-25 mph.
The Utah Division of Environmental Quality has graded air quality "Green," or healthy statewide, so put on that wide-brimmed hat, slather on the sunscreen lotion, keep a bottle of water handy and enjoy the outdoors, if you are so inclined.
Salt Lake City's high temperature for Thursday was pegged at 87, down two degrees from Wednesday's forecast; Ogdenites looked for 85 degrees both days; Provo 90 and 91; Logan 82 and 83; Wendover 85 and 89; Duchesne 87 and 88; Cedar City 89 and 90; St. George 99 and 100; and Moab 96 degrees both days.
