Offensive gay displays | The Salt Lake Tribune

It is interesting that the gays and lesbians in Utah want us to take them seriously as members in good standing with other people in Utah. They claim that their lifestyle is just as normal as anyone else's in Utah, or for that matter, in this country; that they do not perform or act in any way that would be harmful to anyone, including children.

Unfortunately, I happened to be in downtown Salt Lake when the recent Gay Pride Parade was going on and witnessed some of the "acts" that the gays were doing on one of the floats, as well as some of the other displays going on. Men dancing in what looked like their underwear, making a spectacle of themselves, behaving in a manner I felt was offensive.

Fine, do as you please; be what you want to be. But if you want the people of Utah to take you seriously, behave in a credible fashion, and who knows, maybe in 100 years or so, we just might take you seriously. But then again, Tribune cartoonist Pat Bagley might turn Republican before that time.
