NBA announces summer league schedule

The NBA has announced a 60-game schedule for its annual summer league in Las Vegas, which runs July 13-22 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion.After participating in the Orlando Summer League from July 9-13, the Utah Jazz will not send a team to Las Vegas.Twenty-four teams have entered the Las Vegas summer league, including Sacramento. Former BYU star Jimmer Fredette is expected to play for the Kings. NBA-TV will televise all 60 games, including 39 on a live basis.The summer league "provides fans ... the unique opportunity to see some of the brightest young stars competing in one location in a family-friendly environment," said Gail Hunter, the NBA's senior vice president of events and attractions.Six of the last seven Rookie of the Year award-winners have joined their teams in Las Vegas, including Chris Paul, Brandon Roy, Kevin Durant, Tyreke Evans, Blake Griffin and Kyrie Irving.Tickets for the 2012 NBA Summer League can be purchased through UNLVtickets.com or by visiting the Thomas & Mack Center box office and UNLV ticket outlets.
