Larry Krystkowiak continues to target in-state recruits.
The Utah basketball coach offered a scholarship to Brighton senior guard Brandon Miller at the Utes team this weekend camp, according to Brighton coach Jeff Gardner.
Miller averaged more than 21 points per game last year as he led the Bengals to the Class 5A title game. His older brother, Corbin, was a freshman last year at Harvard. Miller also has offers from Ivy League schools, as well as UC-Davis.
Last week, East guard Parker Van Dyke committed to the Utes, becoming Krystkowiak's second high-profile in-state commit. While Van Dyke and Miller are in the same class and play the same position, they could end up a couple of years apart, depending on when and if Miller serves an LDS mission. Miller told The Tribune last week that Van Dyke's commitment did not affect his interest in Utah, nor the Utes' in him.
"Parker and I grew up playing together, superleagues and all that," Miller told Tribune reporter Kyle Goon. "It hasn't changed anything about my relationship with Utah. They said the interest in me hasn't gone down."
