Taylorsville police looking for quadriplegic's stolen van

Taylorsville police Tuesday were asking the public to be on the lookout for a van stolen from a quadriplegic man's driveway.

Police Lt. Rosie Rivera said the man on Monday parked the van in his driveway of his home near 1900 W. Farm Road (5910 South). He left the door unlocked and the keys inside when he last saw it about 9 p.m., she said.

Rivera said that for a thief, the van was likely too easy a target to pass up. She said the thief probably noticed the keys were left inside the van, which can also be driven by someone without a disability, and decided to take it.

Rivera said the thief may now have abandoned the vehicle, so police are asking people to look for any out-of-place van parked on their streets.

The 2000 Chrysler Town and Country is silver in color with Utah handicap plates A052G. It is equipped with a hydraulic ramp.
