BYU is conducting the first of two padded football camps on campus this week, and the oral commitments are beginning to pour in from the class of 2013. The latest prospect to say he will become a Cougar is Meti Taliauli, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound defensive tackle from Salt Lake City's East High. The Cougars are going to be short on defensive linemen in the near future, with six seniors who play along the defensive line approaching their final season of eligibility. BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall now has 10 commitments from the class of 2013, although some are apparently shaky. Most notably, offensive lineman Brayden Kearsley of Aloha High in Oregon continues to entertain offers from other schools (Kansas offered the 6-6, 250-pound lineman on Tuesday) after having committed to BYU a year ago. And after committing to BYU last week, JonRyheem Peoples of Rigby, Idaho, talked to more potential suitors at the recent All-Poly Camp in Bountiful, including Utah coach Kyle Whittingham. As of Monday evening, however, Peoples had tweeted that he was still committed to BYU. And so it goes. As for Taliauli, he immediately accepted Mendenhall's scholarship offer on Tuesday after receiving it from BYU coaches. It was his first offer, but Boise State, Idaho, Weber State and Utah were apparently interested. As reported in our recruiting trail blog on Monday, BYU recently offered Bingham High receiver Hayden Weichers, a 6-foot, 165-pound speedster who also has an offer on the table from Utah State. Bingham coach Dave Peck said BYU has also offered junior tight end Dalton Schultz of Bingham. He is expected to be one of the state's most-recruited players from the class of 2014. Here are the 10 players who have committed to BYU and are expected to sign in February of 2013:Keegan Hicks, 6-3, 280 OL from South Jordan, Utah (Bingham High School)Brayden Kearsley, 6-6, 250 OL from Portland, Ore.
