And the award for best cameo by a national park in a movie goes to ...
Well, that's for you to decide but according to a list printed on the website Mother Nature News, four of the top 10 are in Utah.
The four are:
• Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, for "Planet of the Apes" (1968)
• Zion National Park, for "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (1969)
• Arches National Park, for "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" (1989)
• Canyonlands National Park, for "Thelma & Louise" (1991)
Honorable mentions included the biblical epic "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (1965, filmed in part at Arches, Canyonlands and Glen Canyon); the Clint Eastwood mountain-climbing thriller "The Eiger Sanction" (1975, filmed partly at Zion); and the John Travolta/Christian Slater military action drama "Broken Arrow" (1996, filmed in part at Glen Canyon).
