Sea monkeys and bats and kids, oh my!

You can find all three at Antelope Island State Park on Saturday as park staffers teach the young 'uns — and their parents — a bit about the first two.

Not much of anything can live in water as salty as the Great Salt Lake, so those that do have some pretty cool adaptations. Children ages 6-12 are invited to come and learn all about brine shrimp — also known as sea monkeys — on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Meet at Bridger Bay Beach.

If you're more interested in winged mammals, you can learn how the much-feared, oft-reviled bat is really one of the most important do-gooders in the natural world. Discover some of the wonders of bats beginning at 6 p.m. in the Visitor Center.

There's no fee for to learn about the sea monkeys or the bats, but regular park admission prices apply.
