A Kearns woman accused of stealing nearly $70,000 from a property management company where she worked was charged with theft Wednesday.
The 26-year-old confessed to the company president in February that she had forged checks to herself, then buried them in a stack of legitimate payables, according to charging documents filed in 3rd District Court.
She was fired from Bridge Property Management, 5295 South Commerce Drive, and an internal investigation turned up 32 fraudulent reimbursements worth a total of $68,485 issued from January 2011 through February 2012, charges state.
The woman was charged with one count of theft by deception, a second-degree felony.
