When a thief broke into a Salt Lake City house recently, the burglar took a computer and an iPad. But it is a tiny plastic figurine that the homeowners really miss.

The anonymous homeowners posted an ad on Craigslist Tuesday, asking the thief to return the Playmobil figure of a sailor, attached to a keyring.

Of course, with the figurine, there's a backstory. Quoting here from the ad:

"My mother-in-law, who I loved so much, gave him to me 10 years ago because it reminded her of her son. She died three weeks ago. It was the only thing of hers that she gave to me while she was living and I would really, really, like it back."

The ad writer asks the thief to return the figurine to the homeowner's mailbox or porch, noting "You know where I live."
