The Millcreek Community Market kicks off its 2012 season on Thursday, July 26, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Historic Baldwin Radio Factory (3474 South 2300 East, Millcreek), a former radio headset factory built in the early 1900's that has been transformed into art studios.The market will run every Thursday through October 4, 2012. The market is billed as a free, family-friendly event featuring products and crafts from a wide variety of farmers, gardeners, food vendors and artists, along with live music and interactive demonstrations. Patrons can learn the basics of yoga, how to dry herbs from a garden, cultivate seeds for next year's harvest, and how to build a backyard chicken coop. Market goers can also watch pottery demonstrations and explore their creative side by learning how to make a fused glass pendant.Families are invited to enjoy live music and entertainment each week, and throw a blanket down in the newly expanded grassy area of Evergreen Park.
