Salt Lake police use Taser on suicidal girl armed with 2 knives

A Salt Lake City police officer used a Taser to subdue a suicidal 15-year-old girl who was armed with two kitchen knives.
The girl was arguing with her parents on Friday afternoon, when she ran to the kitchen, grabbed the knives and threatened to injure herself, according to a police report.
An arriving officer, unable to get the girl to put down the weapons, used his Taser.
"The Taser had the desired effect and the female dropped the knives," the report said.
The girl was transported to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
