Keeping track of your Salt Lake City library account just got easier.

The Salt Lake City Library announced it now offers smart phone applications for Apple and Android devices.

The apps give users access to their account information, according to a news release. They can place holds, renew items and check whether new titles are available. The apps also allow users to easily search the library's extensive online catalog.

"In today's online environment, we recognize that we serve patrons who don't always come through our doors," Deborah Ehrman, associate director for The City Library, said in the news release. "Providing mobile access to our catalog and account information is part of our commitment to create the best possible experience for all library users."

The app is free and can be downloaded from Apple App Store and Android Market, by searching Salt Lake City Public Library. For more information, or a quick link to the app download, visit www.slcpl.org.
