A 61-year-old woman was killed and her grandson was injured Saturday in a rollover near the mouth of Ogden Canyon.

The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Valley Drive and Canyon Road, said Ogden police Lt. Will Cragun.

Cragun said the accident is still being investigated, but it appears the woman's vehicle left the road while she was heading west out of the canyon.

After getting back onto the roadway, the woman lost control of the car, and it rolled, Cragun said.

The victim's 17-year-old grandson was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman was extricated from her vehicle and died at the accident scene.

Police are investigating whether another vehicle played a part in the accident, Cragun said.
