A teenage driver missed a turn, sending her car into a building and down an embankment Monday in Cottonwood Heights.
The driver suffered only a sprained foot, said Cottonwood Heights police Sgt. Scott Peck.
About 12:50 p.m., the motorist was driving her Mazda3 west on Fort Union Boulevard (7000 South). Peck said she tried to take a "hard right" onto Promenade Drive (2475 East).
But the car didn't make the turn and went diagonally through the intersection, jumping a curb and traveling about 15 feet through landscaping and into the side of the Hillside Business Center.
Peck said the Mazda hit the side of the building and dropped nose-down about 10 feet into a concrete well around the building. The driver was able to get out of the car on her own.ncarlisle@sltrib.com
