Redford taking new movie to Venice, too

Robert Redford will be getting a lot of frequent-flier miles this fall.

Earlier this week, The Cricket reported that Redford's film "The Company You Keep" will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Now comes word that the film — in which Redford directed and stars as a former Weather Underground radical whose cover is blown by a journalist (Shia LaBeouf) — will premiere at the Venice Film Festival, just before Toronto.

Maybe Redford can go for the trifecta, and take the movie to the Telluride Film Festival over Labor Day weekend. (If he does, no one will know until just before the festival starts, as Telluride famously keeps its lineup a secret. Sometimes movies booked at Toronto will show up in Telluride as unannounced "sneak previews," so Toronto can still claim the North American premiere.)
