An interesting subplot to Utah State's recruiting season surrounds Logan High linebacker Chasen Andersen and his decision on what school to attend next year.

If you guessed that he's Gary Andersen's son, you've guessed right. If you guessed that he's automatically headed to Utah State, well, hold your horses just a little.

Andersen holds an official offer from the Aggies. He also holds an official offer from BYU. San Jose State looks ready to offer at any second, and Boise State is showing interest.

It's all for good reason. Andersen is one of the best linebackers in the Utah high school ranks.

He told The Tribune on Friday that he plans on letting the recruiting process "play itself out" a bit, and that he doesn't plan on committing to a school anytime soon. He also said that he doesn't have a leader as of yet.

Andersen will be the hub of a Logan defense that makes the Grizzlies a state title contender this upcoming season. He was at Utah State's practice on Friday afternoon, and is high on the Aggies' recruiting board.
