A tractor-trailer carrying a family of eight tipped over Friday afternoon, injuring two in Box Elder County.

The semi was hauling a load of apples south on Interstate 15 about 4 p.m. when it tipped over going around the curve of the off-ramp southeast of Tremonton, according to Utah Highway Patrol spokeswoman Susan Thomas.

The crash jostled the two parents and six children inside the cab. The mom had back injuries and one of her sons suffered a broken leg. The two were transported to the hospital, one was taken by helicopter and another by ground ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.

The ramp was closed for several hours before being cleaned up.
