Scott M. McCullough, Gregory C. Zaugg and Kamron A. Keele have been named shareholders in the Salt Lake City-based law firm of Callister Nebeker & McCullough. McCullough joined the firm as an associate in 2006. His practice includes tax, estate and business planning. Zaugg joined as an associate in 2006. He is a graduate of Creighton University College of Law. Keele is a graduate of Georgetown University Law School.

Heather E. Gunnarson has been named director of the Adjudication Division of the Utah Labor Commission. She is a graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and is an attorney licensed to practice in Utah. In 2006, she was appointed director for the Utah Anti-Discrimination & Labor Division by Gov. Jon Huntsman.

Stephen T. Kirk, a specialist in sports medicine, has joined Comprehensive Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, a member practice of Physician Group of Utah. Kirk earned his medical degree at the University of Iowa, followed by a residency at Utah Valley Family Medicine. He then served a fellowship at Utah Valley Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. Physician Group of Utah named Laura Walsh director of marketing. She has more than 20 years experience in health care marketing, communications and public relations.

Veteran litigator Lori W. Nelson was recently sworn in as the 80th president of the Utah State Bar. She is only the fourth woman to hold the position. Nelson, an Idaho native, has been a member of the Utah State Bar for almost 20 years and has practiced domestic law with the Salt Lake City-based law firm of Jones Waldo for the past six, holding leadership positions both on the board of directors and in the domestic practice group.

The U.S. Small Business Administration has appointed Bryson Patterson to be regional trade finance specialist for the Rocky Mountain West. Patterson's territory covers Utah, Wyoming and Colorado out of the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Denver.

The law firm of Stoel Rives LLP, which has an office in Salt Lake City, has been recognized as having one of the top patent law practices in the nation in the inaugural edition of IAM Patent 1000 – The World's Leading Patent Practitioners. IAM also singled out three of the of the firm's Utah-based intellectual property lawyers for being leaders in their practice areas —Kenneth B. Black, Barton W. Giddings and Kevin B. Laurence. IAM is a research publication from Intellectual Asset Management magazine.
