The Utah Symphony Chorus and Utah Opera Chorus will be holding open auditions for tenors and basses for the 2012-2013 season September 5 and September 6.

The Utah Symphony Chorus is a volunteer chorus that performs symphonic choral repertoire with the Utah Symphony.

The repertoire for 2012-2013 includes Mendelssohn's Lobgesang, Handel's Messiah, and Schoenberg's Peace on Earth, as well as pops programming.

The audition for the Utah Symphony Chorus consists of vocalizing, sight-reading, and singing "My Country Tis of Thee." Applicants should be trained singers living in Utah with significant stage experience. They must have one aria or art song prepared (4 minutes or less) and will be asked to sight-sing. Auditions for both choruses will be held by appointment only.

Applicants should contact Shaun Ricks at sricks@usuo.org to request an audition.
