The 25th Utah Conference for Seniors, set for Monday at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, is a "one-stop-shop" to help seniors navigate services from health care to social media.

"The demographics in this state are changing and there's more senior citizens than ever," said Mark Eddington, spokesman for Utah Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch, who hosts the conference. "They have needs and they have questions, and this is a way for Senator Hatch to help them."

This year's conference will include workshops on topics such as health care, financial planning, veterans services, senior volunteering, legal rights and connecting with friends and family through social media.

But the conference is also about getting seniors together to have some fun.

Olympic gold medalist and humanitarian Jim Shea will be the keynote speaker in the morning, followed by singer George Dyer in the afternoon.

"This year's conference should be entertaining and uplifting," Hatch said. —
