Utah beauty queen is out to win a million bucks on 'Survivor'

Yet another Utahn will be competing on the upcoming season of "Survivor" - and she'll be trying to outwit, outplay and outlast a former "Facts of Life" star and former major leaguer, among others.

Angie Layton, 20 is among the 18 contestants on "Survivor: Philippines," which premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

The other competitors include Lisa Whelchel, who played Blair on the 1979-88 sitcom "The Facts of Life," and former San Francisco Giants second basemen Jeff Kent.

From what little info we have at this point, it looks like Layton will be portrayed as a girlie-girl trying to use her feminine wiles to get ahead. She's one of several young women other contestants refer to as "super models."

"There's cut-throat girls in pageants." says Layton, a former Miss Utah Teen USA and the third-runner up to Miss Teen USA. "And I think that, in this game, there's cutthroat people.She listed her reason for wanting to be on "Survivor" as: "I want to win, meet some hotties and prove to everyone that I can do it."

Inspiration in life: My family. I'm the youngest of five older brothers and one sister. They taught me how to be tough and have thick skin, and to be proud of who you are no matter what.

Hobbies: All sports, working out, scrapbooking and hanging with my peeps

Pet peeves: Lazy people and slow drivers.

Three words to describe you: Competitive, confident and happy.

If you could have three things on the island what would they be and why? The only thing I would bring is my camera so I could take pictures and scrapbook my journey.

"Survivor" contestant you are most like: Fabio - because people underestimated him for a "dumb blonde" and he used that to his advantage. At the end, he surprised everyone. I am the same way!

Why you think you'll survive "Survivor": Because I am mentally strong, and I have what it takes to survive the elements and challenges. I'm also loyal and easy to get along with.

Why you think you will be the sole "Survivor": I know I can manipulate my way to the top! But, most importantly I am extremely competitive and am driven to succeed. I'm not afraid of anything.

CBS announced 15 of the 18 contestants on Monday. The names of the final three - former contestants who were forced out of the game because of medical issues - will be announced later this week.
