Winder Farms gets

Dairy Expo award

Winder Farms, a Utah company known for home delivery of its dairy products and other grocery items, won first place in the white milk and lowfat chocolate milk categories at the Dairy Product Championship contest at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis. Winder also placed second in the whey-based sports/energy drink category with one of its newest products — Chocolate Milk Recovery Drink.

IRS offers help

to college bound

The Internal Revenue Service has an online tool to help college-bound students and their parents minimize the time spent completing the U.S. Department of Education's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms. By using the tool, applicants can transfer data from their federal returns directly to the FAFSA form. Go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm.

Aetna to acquire

Coventry for $5.7B

Aetna, the giant health insurer, staked a claim Monday in the burgeoning market for government-funded coverage. It plans to buy fellow insurer Coventry Health Care for $5.7 billion. The acquisition will boost Aetna's Medicaid enrollment months before millions of uninsured Americans are expected to become eligible for coverage under the president's health care overhaul.

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP is selling some of its assets to Tallgrass Energy Partners LP for $1.8 billion in cash. The deal is necessary for its parent, Kinder Morgan Inc., to get regulatory approval for its $20 billion buyout of El Paso Corp.

Lowe's sees 2Q

earnings drop

For Lowe's, the improving housing market is still a bust. The nation's second-largest improvement retailer cut its full-year-earnings and revenue forecasts Monday after posting a 10 percent drop in second-quarter net income. Revenue fell 2 percent.
