One discombobulated motorist suddenly found himself in more trouble than before when he spontaneously decided to ask a Highland police officer for directions.
Turns out the man was highly intoxicated.
Lone Peak police said an officer was already working a traffic stop Aug. 13 when a vehicle pulled up behind him and the driver asked for directions.
While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed visible signs of impairment.
The man failed a field sobriety test, and then was found to be more than three times over the legal limit when he blew into an Intoxilyzer.
The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and several other charges.
