Marine from Utah killed in California motorcycle crash

A Marine from Draper died Saturday in a motorcycle crash in California.

Cpl. Joshua Vielstich, 21, died on Interstate 10 in Palm Springs, Calif., after his motorcycle hit the rear of a sedan, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office. He died at the scene. Vielstich was serving at Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

His mother, Annette Vielstich, said her son was in the U.S. Marine Corps about 3½ years. He served in Afghanistan for about seven months, she said.
